How to draw a simple human eye...

Step 1: Draw the outline of the eye. Then draw the iris and go over it slightly to make it bolder. Draw the eye muscle (the strange thing on the VERY right of the eye that you cry out of) and draw little bumps at the bottom of the eye (these are the templates for the eyelashes.) Remember to draw the pupil; make sure that it is darker than anything else. You see that white blob on top of the pupil? Yes well be sure to draw that

because you will need that later on!

Step 2: Darken the outline of the eye and iris. Shade at the top left corner of the iris and work your way down getting lighter and lighter each time. Keep rubbing out the strange white thing, again, you want that to be brighter than everything else!

Step 3: Keep shading darker at the top and down inside the iris, you want that shiny kind of look =] Now, what you have to do is just brush the pencil in the *very corners* of the eye and just gently rub with your finger to get a slight shady effect.

Step 4: You might have spotted the problem in the last picture. I had shaded with my finger and smudged the eye muscle. What I did here is just gone over it again so it is noticeable! So here you can start to draw the bottom eyelashes. Don't make them too long yet, we will come to that. Also here I have continued to brush the pencil a little harder in the very edges of the eye and also smudged a little more. Remember to keep rubbing out any accidental shading on the white

shape.

Step 5: You can now start to draw the upper eyelashes. Make the slightly curved and human- like! You can probably see that I have just gone over the very top of the eye to make it more noticeable underneath the eyelashes.

Step 6: You can now draw the upper eyelid and the lower lid. When you are drawing the lower lid, be sure to rub out the bottom of the iris so the lid does not look see-through.

Step 7: Now all you have to do is draw a slight reflection of the eyelashes in the strange white bit!! AND THERE YOU HAVE IT! YOUR HUMAN EYE!

How to draw a simple manga/anime eye...

Step 1: Draw an outline of a rounded shape like the one below. Draw a pupil and a white oval shape placed slightly to the left of the pupil. Draw little templates of eyelashes at the top and darken the outline of the eye. Slightly shade the background and rub out the shading on the white oval shape.


Step 2: Start to shade darker in the top left corner. Also shade the pupil darker to make it bolder.

   Step 3: Lengthen the eyelashes and continue to shade darker in the top left corner and down. Remember to keep rubbing out the shading on the white oval shape, you want it to look brighter than everything else! Keep darkening the pupil to make it stand out.

Step 4: Make the outline much bolder. Make it thick and chunky to make it stand out. Remember to keep rubbing the oval shapes shading! (If there is any accidental shading there!) Continue to lengthen the eyelashes, make them darker and daintier. Keep making the top left corner darker and darker and shade as well until you get to the bottom. So now you should have a simple manga eye! If it doesn't look right try cross hatching the shading inside the eye!
